Calm Air began in the early 1950s as a reliable air service to move passengers to and from fishing camps. By 1962, it had expanded to a service connecting communities in northern Saskatchewan. Moving into northern Manitoba in the early 1970s, Calm Air expanded their services from there.

Now operating more than 90 scheduled flights per week throughout Manitoba and Nunavut, Calm Air has grown into one of the largest regional airlines in Canada.

Calm Air has also developed a strong cargo operation with three dedicated ATR aircraft (based centrally in Thompson, MB) to move freight across Manitoba and Nunavut.

Custom Helicopters, founded in 1977, has grown to a fleet of over 20 helicopters. We are headquartered at St. Andrew’s Airport in Winnipeg, with operational bases throughout Canada. Established in 1960 as a flight training school pioneering in Multi-Instrument flying, Perimeter Aviation has grown into a diversified airline providing scheduled air services for over 22 remote communities in Manitoba and North Western Ontario.

With main bases in Winnipeg and Thompson, Manitoba, and satellite offices in each community we serve, Perimeter is perfectly established to meet all of the travel and shipping needs of our northern community partners. On average, Perimeter flies over 160,000 scheduled passenger flights and ships more than 10 million pounds of freight a year.

In addition to scheduled air services, Perimeter also provides:

  • Custom charter flights to any destination in North America
  • Aeromed emergency air ambulance services
  • Cargo shipping, including the transportation of dangerous goods
  • Certified Aircraft Maintenance by our Approved (Aircraft) Maintenance Organization (AMO)

Perimeter has approximately 575 employees; over 20% of whom are of First Nations decent from the various communities we serve.
